Learning objectives for this unique session include learning what it takes to become a good trail designer and manager. Participants will also be involved with interactive exercises in trail planning, design, layout and construction.

Cam Lockwood has 42 years working with the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation as a trail planner, designer, construction, maintenance and operations leader. Cam wants to pass that information on to the younger generation. He has a BA and MA in Recreation Planning, Design and Management. Cam has worked in many different fields but never lost his passion for trails since earning his Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts. He also helped develop the mechanized trail construction concept. Newly retired, Cam is still traveling across the world sharing his knowledge and keeping trails well maintained and functional. His most cherished memory is completing the Pacific Crest Trail.
